Week2a - Communication Between Business and Consumer

It seems that, sometimes if you take your complaint to social media, they are forced to answer. Forced to care. If not, they can receive a huge backlash online. This can be bad for some small businesses. If enough people are talking about it online, then eventually people could stop buying form you. This is different than what they did in the past. In person or over the phone. Could you even imagine, complaining to someone's face. I'd rather not.

I'm not one to really post reviews. I have, in the past, left positive reviews for small businesses that I have ordered from. I try to make my reviews factual and keep my personal issues aside. If I have an issue, I'll message the seller first before I start making bad reviews. Most of the time, they are eager to fix your problem because they care about your business.

If this was my own business, I would respond with concern/happiness for the customer and their experience, whether or not it was positive or negative. As a business owner I need to listen to what my customers are saying. The good and the bad. This helps me to make decisions of what i need to do the fix the negative. The positive is letting me know what I am doing right. The reviews are a great help to every business.

I checked out a few places for reviews. Brooklynn Boyz Pizza is the best pizza place in the area. I was curious to see if other people agreed. There were both good and bad reviews. Most of the most recent reviews were very positive about the pizza. There were a few times when they noticed my pizza was flimsy or something and he hooked me up with another slice. Most of the negative reviews were about the staff being rude and some about the pizza. I personally have never had any issue with them. They are always super nice when we are there.

I also checked out the Protein for Pets reviews on Facebook, Google and Yelp. On Yelp there are 82 reviews and most of them are positive but the most recent is a year old. On Facebook there were only 3 reviews the most recent 2 years ago. I did a little better when I checked Google for reviews. The most recent is 3 months old. Most of the reviews we great. There were a few 1-to-3-star reviews.

Week1b: Social Media Use Today

The use of social media today is insane. Between Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok you never know what you are going to see or learn next. I think Facebook should be used more for business and less for personal. Just about everyone has a Facebook. I know that some businesses look at potential employees Facebook to make a decision depending on what they see.

Instagram has more of a personal touch, it can be used for both business and to post those great ocean sunset pictures you took last week. I think that it is more personal because you can only post pictures with a limited caption. You can add hashtags to draw in the right crowd. The hashtags are important in growing your following.

TikTok is wild. You can find just about any subject you could want. You can search for hashtags and find just what you are looking for. It is definitely a time killer. Doom scrolling is what they call it, just mindlessly scrolling through TikTok.

Week1a: My Blog Theme

The first blog theme that I chose was the Awesome Incorporation in Dark. I thought that it would look good, but it was just dark. It didn't scream this is a great blog about pet food. I went through a bunch and still haven't found one that I love yet.

I also tried the theme Notable in Coral. I thought that I would like the theme, but it didn't have the look I was going for. I wanted simple and easy, but this was too simple. I want the blog to shed light on the pet food industry and how to pick the best for your pet.

I then tried the blog theme Soho Light. I chose this theme because I thought that it would fit best with what I want my blog to be. This blog theme is simple and easy to read. I did choose a different background. I chose to use a picture of my dog. I chose this picture because she is important to me. It's to remind me that all pets deserve the best in life and it's up to us to make that happen.

In the end I chose the theme Simple Simply Simple. I said that I wanted simple, and I found it. This is exactly what I was picturing in my head. I did add a background that was a shining light, as a metaphor for shining light on the pet food industry. It didn't show up like that, but I still liked the background.

Week 17: Wrapping it up.

My use of social media has changed quite a bit over this semester. Our Instagram went up by almost 100 followers. The Facebook page is at 54...
